NSWAFUA logo About us

The NSWAF Umpires Association provides field, boundary and goal umpires to the Sydney Australian Football League (Sydney AFL) Premier Division, First Division and (when available) Second Division competitions. Matches are held across the Greater Sydney & Wollongong areas, from Hornsby in the north, Richmond in the north-west, Penrith in the west, Campbelltown in the south-west and Wollongong in the south.

Appointments in these State League games may lead to higher opportunities, including representative football, the NAB National Championships and ultimately the AFL. The NSWAFUA currently has two Members on the AFL Boundary Umpire list and one Member on the AFL Goal Umpire list.

The objectives for which the Association is established are:

  • to represent Members with integrity, respect and relevance for the advancement of the interests, standing and skills of Members;
  • to provide a collective voice to benefit the welfare of Umpires;
  • the development of fellowship between Umpires; and
  • so far as may be incidental to these Objectives, the promotion of Australian Football in New South Wales.

Additional information about the NSWAF Umpires Association is available in the Constitution.
