Privacy Policy

The NSWAFUA is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. Questions regarding this privacy policy should be directed to the NSWAFUA Committee.

1. Information we collect
The NSWAFUA collects personal information. This may include your name, address, telephone numbers, email addresses, date of birth and bank account details. We may also collect any other information we determine is necessary to effectively administer the Association.

2. Why we collect your information
Our primary goal in collecting your personal information is to administer the Association. Personal information is only collected where it is directly related to Membership of the Association.

3. Our use of your information
The NSWAFUA uses personal information only for the purpose for which it was collected, or a related purpose that an individual would reasonably expect their personal information to be used.

4. Our disclosure of your information
Our disclosure of your personal information is limited to:

  1. the relevant Member (regarding their own personal information);
  2. Members of the NSWAFUA Committee, who require access to personal information to carry out their responsibilities;
  3. relevant third parties as directly authorised by the relevant Member, such as a financial institution.

Where an NSWAFUA Committee Member has access to personal information and associated systems, information is only accessed on a need to know basis only.
Additionally, Members may elect to have their abbreviated contact details (name, suburb, telephone numbers and email addresses) made available to other Members via the ‘Member Contact Database’.

5. Our disclosure of your information to third parties
The NSWAFUA may disclose personal information to the AFL NSW/ACT Commission or the AFLUA, but only when required by these organisations for umpiring related matters. Those parties will not disclosure your information to any additional party without your direct authority.
The NSWAFUA will only disclosure your information to any other organisation or third party where the law requires such disclosure.
Requests for information by a third party will only be considered on written request with authorisation by the Member concerned. Where requests are received, the NSWAFUA will consult directly with the Member to gain their permission to divulge the information requested and will then respond to the organisation concerned.
Information may not be released for any unauthorised reasons.

6. Reviewing and changing your personally identifiable information
Members are entitled to access their personal information.
Should a Member wish to gain access to their personal information held by the NSWAFUA, please contact a NSWAFUA Committee Member.
If you believe your personal information is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, you may request that your information be corrected.

7. Security of Your personal information
The NSWAFUA maintains information in both electronic and paper-based form. Operational procedures are in place to protect this information from misuse and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification and disclosure.
Personal information is kept secure, so that it can only be accessed by authorised Members. Access to computers and files is managed to ensure access is limited to authorised Members only.
Members of the Committee are responsible for ensuring the confidential and secure treatment of personal information, including ensuring that any potential breach of security in relation to personal information is managed quickly and effectively.
Members of the Association who have access to any form of personal information must not use, release, disclose, or study the information for any reason other than in the performance of their duties for the NSWAFUA.

8. Website security
The NSWAFUA provides Members with access to a ‘Members Only’ section of the NSWAFUA website. Entry to this area is restricted to NSWAFUA Members only. All Association Members are able to access this service through a unique login and password. Members are not to disclose details of either their login or password to any other Member, person, organisation or third party.
If you have forgotten or lost your login or password, contact a Committee Member.

9. Member Contact Database
The Member Contact Database is a service database within the ‘Members Only’ section of the NSWAFUA website. Members may elect to have their abbreviated contact details (name, suburb, telephone numbers and email addresses) made available to other Members who elect to participate in the service.
The information in the MCD is only available within the secure ‘Members Only’ area of the NSWAFUA website, and is not available to the general public. Only those Members who have elected to join the service are able to access the MCD.
Members with access to the ‘Member Contact Database’ must only use this information for their own personal use. It must not be disclosed to other Members, organisations or third parties.
Members can elect to have their information added or removed from this database at any time by contacting a Committee Member.

10. Changes to Privacy Policy
If we are going to use your personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated in this Privacy Policy, we will notify you prior to making such changes. You will have a choice as to whether or not we use your information in this different manner.
Additionally, if we make any material changes to privacy policy that affect user information already stored in our database, we will inform our Members before making such a change.
