Welcome back BBQ postponed

As you can imagine, there has been a flurry of activity behind the scenes to prepare for today’s proposed ‘Welcome back BBQ’ and QLD Flood Relief fundraiser after training.
 
Despite the Association’s best intentions, mother nature has intervened and today is forecast to be extremely hot. In addition, today has been declared a total fire ban in the Sydney metro area.
 
Consequently, the BBQ has been postponed and will now take place after training next Tuesday 8 February at North Sydney Oval.

All sales generated from the General Store over the next two weeks (together with all monies raised from the BBQ) will continue to be donated by the AFL Sydney Umpires | NSWAFUA to the Queensland Premier Flood Appeal.

Training resumes Tuesday 1 February

Official training for the AFL Sydney Umpiring Group will commence on Tuesday 1 February 2011.

Training will be held at North Sydney Oval, Miller Street, North Sydney (Tuesday and Thursday nights) and Blacktown Olympic Park, Eastern Road, Rooty Hill (Tuesday nights only). Training begins at 6pm.

Note: Training for Goal Umpires will be conducted on Tuesday nights in February/March due to the unavailability of North Sydney Oval.
