The NSWAFUA is the representative body of umpires who officiate in the Australian Football League Sydney (AFL Sydney, formely the "Sydney AFL").
Matches are held across the Greater Sydney area, from Pennant Hills in the north, to Richmond & Penrith in the west, and to Camden & Wollongong in the south. Appointments in these State League games may lead to higher opportunities, including representative football, the NAB National Championships and ultimately the AFL.
The NSWAFUA is proud to have one Field Umpire, three Boundary Umpire and one Goal Umpire representatives on the AFL list.
Along with fostering fellowship and community within the AFL Sydney Umpiring Group, the NSWAFUA represents all umpires at the AFL NSW/ACT Commission. We provide support and assistance to our Members through our extensive list of services, events and programs.
Our headquarters are co-located with the AFL Sydney Umpiring Group at North Sydney Oval, North Sydney. We train on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm. A satellite training session is also run at Whalan Reserve, St Clair on Tuesday evenings. All welcome.
